Andrea van der Straeten‘s work as a conceptual artist unfolds across an expansive range of media, materials, and techniques. By constantly experimenting, her practice explores and often dissolves the boundaries between photography and graphic art, the still and moving image, as well as language, sound and music.

The exhibition, presented throughout the ground floor gallery and two rooms above, brings together works spanning from the 1990s to the present. Rather than presenting a conventional retrospective, it invites visitors to navigate a parcours where diverse works engage in dialogue – visually and linguistically. Through imagery and the interplay of printed, drawn, cut and spoken language, each piece reflects on how communication and expression take shape.

For van der Straeten, artistic practice is an ongoing aethetic, reflective, technical and communicative process. Collaboration, including inviting colleagues into her working methods, serves to highlight relational dynamics and the shared nature of artistic creation.
